The idea behind FillMyBus isn’t just limited to events. Far from it.
One example of this is the increasingly popular trend of bagging Munros. A Munro is a Scottish Mountain over 3000ft high and it has become a passion for many locals and tourists alike to ‘bag’ as many as they can. It’s a great way to see the real Scotland and get memorable photos. The problem is, you almost always need a car to reach the starting point of the walking routes.
Tag em & bag em
This is a problem we hope to solve. Our aim is to fill busses and bag a different Munro every month. In the summer it could even be more. To begin with we will be taking busses from Edinburgh before starting clubs in other areas of the country such as the Scottish Borders, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Hopefully this gives even more people access to the best scenery in the UK and encourage others to get active. Our first trip is planned for August the 6th from the centre of Edinburgh to Ben Lomond. Ben Lomond is one of the most well known Munros and gives people a nice taster without being too difficult.
It isn’t just Munros that are inaccessible for the non car owning public. There are loads of activities such as ice climbing, white water rafting, canyoning and surfing that rural Scotland has to offer. It could even be argued that more fun can be had outside of the large cities. Hopefully there will no longer be a question of how to get there. Direct transport is now an option. Keep an eye on the activities page of our website so you can keep up to date with the latest offers and if you think of something that others might be interested then you can request a bus.
